Well I just picked up a new 2"x30' at ACE Hardware for 54$, I'll cut the other one up to make a couple of 6' loops with a "D" ring on them. I have found these to be very useful when trying to pull out small, low,2WD,southern vehicals that have no place to hook on to. You would be amazed with what people drive up here to go skiing in a blizzard and wonder why they got stuck in the snow.

It's painful financially to toss out a well love recovery strap. However you start questioning it's reliability it's time for another one. I retire my climbing ropes routinely regardless of how worn they appear.
You made a good call when you retired your strap.

The strap I got has loop ends which I then put on a D ring with a hook at each end and another D ring floating in the middle of the strap, this gives me a bunch of different set ups for hooking up and if I have the whole 30' strung out I attach my recovery storage bag to the ring in the middle in case of strap breakage it acts as a dampener.
