When wheeling alone...
What do you carry with you? Wanting to go out today, have a little fun, but it's in a creek bed, 20 miles from civilization...I have a winch, jack, shot-gun, and various hand tools...what else do you guys carry?
I guess it depends on how rough the trail is and how much of an idiot you are. If the answer is like me and is "not that hard and a whole lot" you carry nothing but some basic tools and cell phone. The trail I do alone is just a gravel road with a few dirt hills and places to play. And I'm probably being retarded doing it without a winch or recovery gear.
But the biggest thing I do is tell someone where I'm going and when to expect me back. That way if you get in trouble with no cell service just wait and hope that your friend will come looking. Just make sure it's a good friend...

I've gone out before by myself and have gotten stuck. Trust me, it's not fun. I had to hike about 4 miles until I found another off-roader to come pull me out.
Since then I make sure I have the following if I go out by myself:
Enough food and water to last me a couple days (and it's in a backpack, that way if I have to do some hiking I can carry it with me).
Tools (All the basic tools you need to work on your Jeep)
Matches, Compass, and a buck knife
Coat, Gloves, change of clothes (it rains a lot in the PNW so you gotta stay dry and warm)
Spare Tire
Shovel (to dig a hole, put my spare tire in it, cover the hole, and hook my winch up to it)
Axe
Winch Controls
CB scan the channels, you never know who maybe out there that can lend a helping hand.

ive never gone wheeling by myself, but i would imagine you would want self reliant recovery gear and all the tools you need. i dont think i would ever wheel by myself, even on a very simple trail. scary thinking about getting stuck on your own out there
I like the shotgun in case of bears and zombies! Might as well pack a good med kit too.
My wife gave me one of those SPOT GPS locators for Christmas a few years ago. I have it set to send her texts and emails on one button, roadside assistance on another button and SAR on the last button. It also has a track setting that sends out a location every 10 minutes. I can go back later and it maps all the locations on one map. Pretty cool tool and I can get out in areas with no cell service.
