I agree when you go for the winch the
sh-ts already hit the fan you want the most reliable piece of recovery gear you can afford---- cheap out some other place

I have a Smittybilt XRC 8500 and have used it several times without problems.
I would do same winch again on my next rig.

Default smittybilt XRC8

I have had my XRC8 about a year now and I have used it a dozen times for pulling out cars, trucks, trees, and I have self recovered my JK with it twice. The pics are from the places I got stuck and self recovered. I had trouble at one time with the lever getting stuck and that has been my only problem.

I bought the ENGO E10000 with the synthetic line from Jeepaddons, Chris.

For what I have been reading in this and other forums the Warn winches are no longer what they used to be and just an overpriced accessory living on its name.

A magazine (four wheeling) just ran a test and the Engo got the best performance.

I also read excellent reviews on the Smitty and Recon so be aware of overpriced stuff. Not always the most expensive is the best.

X2, no one else advertises IP67 standards... Great warranty, synth line. 10.5k and comes with a wireless and wired remote. Mine hasn't been used a lot, but it has always worked. Pulled a 1/2 ton pickup out of the sand last year. See sig block for photo links.

Those Mile Marker winches look pretty nice. Maybe someone has some experience with them.

I just scooped up the Smitty X20-10. No experience with it, but heard plenty of great things about it. Waterproof and 10k lbs.
