Default Winch Plate

Our Jeep club recently had its monthly meeting at a Jeep dealership, and we saw this used 2007 Rubi with a winch on the stock bumber, but we could not identify the winch plate? it looked like a good, heavy duty plate. No name on it. Looked too good to be a back-yard home-brew. They took the JK tow hooks out, and mounted the plate to the frame, them added black TJ type hooks into the top of the plate. Not a bad looking set up, to be able to use the stock JK bumper. Anybody who may know where the winch plate came from, or who might make it (or one similiar) please post up!

Here you go - it is a Ramsey mount that will work with any winch (normal bolt pattern). I had this mount on my Jeep when I got it from the dealer - it was nice and did not require any modifications - easily bolts up!!! The problem with all other mounts I have seen for factory bumper is they do require some modifications to work.

I ended up getting an aftermarket (Rugged Ridge) due to the cost of a mount for factory bumper. Good Luck!

Cost: $366

Thanks for the info guys. I'm open to any and all tips, ideas and suggestions. I really want a heavy duty winch bumper, with a brush guard, holes for my fog lights and tow hooks (or D-ring mounts) for around $500.00 if possible. I'll keep an eye on 4WD's "scratch & dent", 2 of our club members got a nice "Mopar" bumper for $200.00!!! (scratch & dent)

One of the guys in our club posted and said this is a "WARN" winch plate, because said he had the same thing on a Rubi be bought?? Hummmmmm..

Warn makes a similar winch plate but I believe it only works with their bumper/winch (not positive but thought I had read that somewhere). There is also a Rugged Country winch plate but it is $$$$ too.

There are some cheaper plates on the market but they all require some fab work to get them to work.

I have the Rugged Ridge bumper (modular) and I love it. Winch is mounted low in the bumper - allows for factory fog lights, and you can customize it quite a bit - the only problem is that as far as I know there are no tabs for additional lights. Bought the bumper for about $350.

I've got the Warn plate with a Smittybuilt XRC-8 installed. Picked the plate up used for $75 and then the winch on show special this past weekend for $287.

I stand corrected - I did not know that Warn made a mounting plate for a stock bumper......looks like an identical plate too!

Thanks for the correction.

It seems like that wouldn't even be strong enough for a winch. I prob don't know what I'm talking about though

What you can't see in the photo is the cross member and frame tie-ins that are used. All of that is below the deck of the plate and seems more than strong enough.

Yeah ya know, I didn't even see the big ass plate in the back that go strait down to the frame. I retract my previous statement, my bad. That looks super strong.

Rough Country has a plate for on a stock bumper as well. I have a Warn Power Plant winch and have had no over heating problems what so ever. There are enough vents in the winch cover to allow plenty of air.
