Thanks so much! This is very helpful

I elected to go with the stronger 3/8 line and get less of it (80 feet). I figured I can always get an exetension. Plus east coast wheeling, there usually isnt any shortge of trees.

That's what I'm gonna do. But my winch has 125' of wire so I'll get 100' of synthetic. Then a tree saver. Maybe extra synthetic but I don't think I'll need it. Never hurts to be prepared tho.

U should be fine with 100 feet. Never wheel alone and u wont need a tree if u get stuck far away from stuff. In a pinch u could use a 30 recovery strap wrapped around a tree to get you an exra 10 feet or so as long as it isnt one that stretched (tractor suppley has non-stretching recovery straps)

They make winch extension straps 65' long that are a little bit cheaper than a Synthetic winch line extension. Only problem is that you can't run them through a snatch block like a synthetic winch line extension. Not sure if you would ever run into a problem like that though.

My buddies all have snatch blocks. I'll borrow one if I need it ever.
