That is what I would suggest as well. Most people run 85-90 ft of 3/8's line. I do too but also carry a 50ft dual eye viking rope in my recovery bag. That gives me 140' of line if I need it (plus recovery straps and d-rings).

I elected to go with the stronger 3/8 line and get less of it (80 feet). I figured I can always get an exetension. Plus east coast wheeling, there usually isnt any shortge of trees.

U should be fine with 100 feet. Never wheel alone and u wont need a tree if u get stuck far away from stuff. In a pinch u could use a 30 recovery strap wrapped around a tree to get you an exra 10 feet or so as long as it isnt one that stretched (tractor suppley has non-stretching recovery straps)

They make winch extension straps 65' long that are a little bit cheaper than a Synthetic winch line extension. Only problem is that you can't run them through a snatch block like a synthetic winch line extension. Not sure if you would ever run into a problem like that though.
