Already started my 14 bolt swap I got lucky mine came out of a miliarty truck so it has a Detroit locker already so just a gear swap and some brackets my problem is going to be running a triangulated 4 link in the back which means relocating the gas tank.

Are you keeping all the electronics? If so what kit are you using? Any chance you made a build thread?

jeep speed shop makes a kit thats like $200 and riverraider makes one thats like $1700

i would not reccomend the riverraider kit. i ran it on the front and the engineer of the kit didnt really do that great of a job. the brakes had to be changed up and they didnt really know to much of the kit let alone what brake calipers went with it so i bought the wrong ones. also its extremely over-priced. all it is is tone rings and 2 brackets with some half ass hubs that they dont add in the price. so you either pay for new ones or pay for used ones.

also $1500 is a little cheap your looking at
200-housing
200-jeep speed shop kit
600-detriot
450-ring pinion and install
400-brakes and calipers(can vary)
450-brackets
$$$-custom trackbar and other things probably going to be needed for custom work easily 800 in that
450-driveshaft
$$$-wheels for new bolt pattern

When i did my front 60 with coilovers i thought it would cost just around 6200-6400 but with the extra cost of extra things needed and new steering arms, trackbar, and brake stuff it went to about 7800.

its still cheaper than a dynatrac and i feel like stronger since its a kingpin
when i do my 14 bolt im looking to spend probably 3-4 grand and thats with everything and running

You guys realize the newer style super duty sterling 10.5s are pretty much $50 away from being plug'n'play with the tone rings/electronic. IMO they are a much better option for a one ton converision on the JK for that reason. They are equivalent to a D70 with a 10 1/2" ring gear and 35 splines as is. If you guys want to upgrade your rear for cheap and still keep you electronics then this is the way to go. Heres my buddies rig who did the swap. NO lights on the dash at all.....

what exactly do you have to change on the sterling 10.5s to get electronics going. also what year are they coming out of and are they hard to find? also is the bolt pattern 8x6.5?

Why would you use a 14 bolt and convert it to 5 lug? I'd keep it 8 lug and just run 8 lug wheels.
