Default 2-door: 4" & 37's. Over kill ???

I am set on getting a 2 door rubi, but I am at a loss on the lift and tire set up to choose. I Was thinking the FT 4" or TF 4" with 37's. I was also considering a 4" FT or TF lift with 35x13.5x16's. Would 37's sit the jeep to high?? I also want the 2 door to look proportioned. Do 37's make the 2door appear akward?

I would really appreciate some pics or some advice.

i wanted to do the same thing but money set me back.

My plan was to go with the TF 4" with 35s. I personally would go with 5" or 6" of lift for 37s just because of clearance. You can do it. but to me it just doesn't look right unless you get more clearance of the tires. Then think of a 2dr on 6" of TF long arm with 37"s... Its a badass beast. I haven't seen a picture of one like it yet.

pics of mine (4.5 lift and 35's) in my gallery http://my.project-jk.com/showgallery...=1&ppuser=2039
It sat about 3/4 of an inch higher before I started adding armor. I want to go with 37's but then i will have to beef up axels etc

Here's pics of JK's on 37's https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/jk-show-tell-33/who-part-37-tire-club-post-pics-5667/

See if you can find a June '08 copy of 4wd & Sport Utility mag. Check out Project Dualsport.

Absolutely go that route, buy a Rubi, do 4", 37s, re-gear, will be functional especially on air down with bead locks and therefore would perform excellent crawling, trails, etc, on air-up it'd look just fine. I'm sitting 4.5' with narrow flat fenders and plan on going to 37s, wish I'd have done that before buying the 35s.....damn the war.

The 4" Teraflex has plenty of clearance for 37's! If you want ridiculous clearance and you have alot of money go with 6" Teraflex LA!

Looks wise, my personal opinion is 35's look perfect on the 2 doors w/4" lift & 37's w/4" lift look perfect on the 4-doors.

There are lots of threads you can look at here that highlight 35" tires and threads that higlight the 37" tires. Thats what I used to decide what size I went with...

Default Stick with 35's

Personally, I agree with you about a ballance between functionality and proportionality. I had a TJ Unlimited before with 35's, and I thought it was perfectly proportional, and functional.

I have seen several two doors with 35's and I think they look just perfect, with 17's.

Here is my four door with a 4" Teraflex and 37's on 18's which I think fits, again, both functionally and proportionally. Also, I had to replace both my front and rear drive shafts due to the four inch. I don't know about the two doors...

Good luck!

I have the 4 inch lift and 35's and I did not have to change the driveshafts on my 2dr.
