yes, the RK websites says you can fit 38 on a 3.5 with flats. I went with the 5.5 because in a 4 door belly clearance is king in the rocks. If i ran 38s on a 2 door i would of gone with a 3.5 because you don't need as much belly clearance and with a shorter wheel base it is nice to have a low center of gravity.

The issue with those tires is not the fender clearance but he turn radius and clearance to the frame and control arms when turning requireing a very low back spaced wheel. The weight is roughly the same as a 40"x13.5" tire and the wider foot print puts that much more stress on the ball joints and unit bearing. If you go off road aired down they are very hard to turn and will be putting a lot of stress on the steering box. I would reccomend running at least hydraulic assist with those sized tires.

Without knowing the width of the wheel, offset means nothing. You should be fine with a -24mm if your wheels are 3.5" wide.

well I live in Florida we don't have to crazy of rocks just some small quarries so I don't need belly clearance as much

The wide wheel with is the reason you don't rub. Compared to the factory wheel you would be at 2.25" bs.
