Default AEV Front Bumper w/ XRC8 Winch

I installed the Smittybilt XRC8 winch today and realized the bumper is not designed for an exterior selenoid type of winch - there is no room for it. So... I took the selenoid case apart, siliconed the F out of it, fab'd up a mount, and mouted it behind the bumper. I also mounted the winch controller female plug into the actual bumper. Works great... Looks great!

Boy that looks great Simon, I really like that bumper. Your mount for the winch is awsome. That is my next" want to do" for my Sahara.

I'm hitting some trails today with a few guys from the forum.
I'm sure I will use it - I'll keep you posted.

Gotta agree, that bumper/winch combo looks awesome.

How much space do you have between the tire and bumper?

Enough so it does not rub at full flex.

So far I know it works and pulls. As far as a long term, hard core test, give me another 2 months or so. For the price, I would definitely get it again.

I want an AEV bumper so bad I can taste it. I'm close to getting my real estate liscense and I promised myself on the first house I sell I'm buying an AEV bumper.
