AEV posted an update to the status of their bumper:

We've been tweaking and changing since Moab. Its always easy to get the first 99%, its the final 1% that takes forever. Box (packaging) design is done. Final Kick Off is tomorrow, then we wait for the units to be produced. There were many changes made since Moab.

Most Notable changes are:
  • Tread pattern molded into tanks so people understand that "yes you can stand on them"...Its funny how the term "plastic" is comprehended sometimes
  • Location of cross tube connect was moved for better protection.
  • O-Rings added to spindle assembly for those who don't grease as often as they should.
  • Bumper face was raised slightly to hide some of the Jeeps Class B surface under the tailgate.
  • Holes added for Australian License plates
  • Spindle Assembly changed to allow easy access for installation.
  • Tanks thickened to 3/16 nominal (tanks shown in Moab were 1/8"N)
  • Holes added for BUX Rear Fog Lamp (hidden on US models below the traction pad)
  • Set Screw added to tire offset adjustment for easy set up and service.
Other than a bunch of tolerance and manufacturing changes, its the same as shown in Moab.

I like it. Might not be for everyone, but it has some unique features. Curious on pricing, and will also be interested to see how the early user reviews go.
