I'm extreamly happy with my auto. I wheel alot in Utah and Nevada and it makes it so easy. Power w/ auto is indeed more wimpy on the freeway, but add 5.38 gears, long tube headers and other misc power options and it truly helps. I get my manual kick outta my 1991 Porsche Carerra 2!!

I had an automatic TJ loved it! It felt very strong as a DD. But i always wanted a stick because my buddy's stick TJ was so fun to drive and did feel peppier... Now i got a 2007 Jk stick and it feels sooo sluggish with my 33''s. It struggles to hold 70 mph in 6 gear. I cant even imagine what an auto would feel like in this situation. Plus mine is a 2 door not even 4 door.
P.S.
Are you looking for a 4 door or 2 door? I wouldnt feel right driving a 4 door stick shift.

I was toying with the idea of getting a manual over an Auto for the more pep while driving. I went with the Auto in my 08 Rubi Unlimited. I am glad I did and I have no regrets. Just stick it in gear and go. The other car is a 2010 Mazda 3 with a 6 speed so I get the extra fun of shifting there.
Cheers

Auto Rubi here. Love it. No regrets. Driving in traffic is nice. Wheeling is easy, especially with hill assist (damn enginers made it too easy).
Yeah gearing is not great if you toss on bigger tires, but it's need with any real lift/tire upgrade.
The only downside I have found is if you lift it you will need a new front driveshaft on a 4dr, and both driveshafts on a 2dr. So a little extra out of pocket during the upgrade process.
I still would buy another auto.
