axle is a little bent....
So, the tubes are bent? You know, I know you're not gonna believe this....BUT, I've actually had great success straightening axle tubes chocked up in a hydraulic press. It's not that difficult, either. Just a little time consuming to get it set up.
Is there any issues with metal fatigue with bending the axle tubes back to straight again?
Yea one of my buddies said he could get it close back to stock...
So I am going to wait to see what the insureance says about it ..
if they tell me to fly a kite I am going to try it..and drive it till I can find a good deal on a new front axle....
Thanks,

I have heard if you take your time you can pull this off. The metal wants to go back to where it used to be anyway.
wow that sucks, do you have a pic of the axle that we can see how its bent?
way back in about 88-89 I bent my axles on my CJ7, back then they had an axle truss that was a diff skid plate and two threaded thick rods that went out to a bracket on the ends of the axle tubes, the more you tightened on those rods the more it straightened the axle. I was able to straighten my rear axle with that and drive it that way for about 5-6months

My grandfather fixed mine like that on my CJ-5. Yes it can be done, but then again he could fix anything.
