first put it on jacks then after deflating the tires down to 10 or so psi I took a wire brush very lightly scuffer up the entire rim and got it good and cleaned off of the dust the put on about 4 or 5 coats of the duplicolor

1.5 cans of Plasti-Dip. Trick I learned in the VW community. Clean with soap and water, let dry, then spray in even coats. If you decide you don't like it, or it ever needs to be redone, peel it off and spray again. Won't damage original finish. And the testure is very similar to the factory flares, bumper, etc.
