Default Best Side Armor?

I have to be honest, part of the reason I got the Sahara is because I love the side steps’
But after seeing this thread I want better side protection.
What is the best side armor? I don’t want to drill in my sheet metal and I want them to work as a side step too.

Please post pics of what you are suggesting

I'm almost in the same boat as you mate. Sahara.
I'm so torn on what to get. I know it will be frame mount, but not sure if it will be welded.
That leaves me with Evo's, PJ's and Shrockworks as far as I can tell (at least ones that I like).
It looks like the Shrockworks and PJ's have a bit of a step side to them. I could be wrong. The Evo's however don't really seem to. The Evo's are my favorite though...

What to do...

Yeah theres not much out there that will hold up against getting t-boned by a Toyota Highlander.

A lot of them drilling is required.. but EVO makes a great set, OR-Fab also makes a great product.

PSC makes some nice sliders. Also Ace makes a set that can be used with or without stock rubi sliders to add a bit more protection. I will be getting PSC brawler rockers

Heres my OR-FAB sliders The sliders and body armor are seperate. The sliders mount up just like the rubi rails just more along the pinch seam.

Dam! I did forget the PSC ones. Sorry mate.

Also good.

But for me, I'm doing the Evo ones I think. The welding will be a pain in the ass, but I know a guy...

Ive got OR-Fab rock sliders and they work great. You do not have to drill new holes just drill out the ones that are their allready on the pinch seam. They were pretty easy to install, i did it by my self in a couple of hours.

I think these are my favorite but I will never have the balls to drill the sheet metal with all the road salt we have here in Ohio :(
And that might hurt re-sale value too
