Bit the bullet , traded for one of the last Sahara Tans
My Steel Blue 07' unlimited X has been a great vehicle (mini van motor and all) and we just did a 5,000 mile trip this past fall which included the Grand Canyon and the Ouray Jeep Jamboree with no issues. Steel Blue was my favorite color at the time in 2007 but I have always thought Sahara Tan was a great color since it came out and if I ever traded, I wanted a lighter color because the Steel Blue showed every little scratch from trail riding. Since Sahara Tan is now discontinued, I bit the bullet and bought the last Sahara Tan Rubicon Unlimited within 300 miles and am now in the process of adding all my bolt ons I took off my 07'.
Thoughts on the 2012 so far; The interior is more comfortable (I liked the 07-10 though, just different) and the Pentastar makes a HUGE difference on the road especially at highway and interstate speeds. The 5 speed auto is geared much better and with the added HP and Torgue of the Pentastar, you are not in kick down mode every time you see an incline. I have not taken it off road yet as I am recovering from ankle surgery but am anxious. I'm glad I bit the bullet but can't complain about my 2007.
