Expedition Modded Jeeps - Let's see 'em!!
I've camped at a lot of KOAs for that reason--don't remember coin-operated showers, but you may be able to arrange something at the office for just a shower. Truck stops have coin-operated showers, though. And, many state parks that have overnight camping also offer showers. National parks are rather iffy, but state parks are a bit more consistent. When national parks have them, they are usually coin-operated.
Just out of curiosity, and for the the fun of it, here's an example for how can a pickup be fitted for expedition-style trips:
Turtle Expedition » The Turtle V
The wheels, BTW, are 41"... 7.3 Liter V8 diesel...
Check the rest of the details... It resembles a yacht interior - compact and comfy.
Can you live out of this one any less than out of a Jeep? No way...
Would I even consider replacing my Jeep with this, or anything else? NO way.

I traded in my first 2 door jk for a Dbl Cab Tacoma TRD. With a rear locker it did well off road. Storage space was nice. But even with it being a smaller compact truck, It lacked in being as capable as my jeep. It was simply too wide. Turning radius was horrible, truck bed was too light and even locked the tries just spun. Traded that in for my new 2012 JKUSport and let me tell you, world of a difference. I couldn't be happier.
I am assuming that you have no problems with it leaking? Also, when you load down the rack are you securing the load to the expanded metal of the rack with tie downs?
The rotopax can be upside down and driven down the bumpiest road you have ever been on and they wont leak. The rack has really only held my kayak and me. I use my M416 to carry extra load. The rack is very well made and have not had any issues.
GJeep, my apologize. I reread my post and it did sound very combative. That was not my intent. I have not had experience with the trucks other than what I have seen around here. You are right. Those trucks are very capable as are the motorcyles and many other vehicles. I still prefer my JK over all others. I could have answered your question with a nicer tone.
Both of us share the 'Jeep thing' - for very good reasons - so we're on the same side.

Nice Truck. But I still have to say, all Trucks are less capable off road than a jeep unless it has tons of money put into it. Plain and simple, there not meant to be off road vehicles. Much longer wheelbase, too wide even for most trails here in Colorado, and they are all going to be a PITA for gas Milage.

On tight, narrow corners, where my son turns easily through with his Mitsubishi pickup, I have to reverse at least once to make the turn with my JKU.
But, that's off the Jeep thread...
