I did not pain this jeep, you can read all about it here https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...ighlight=Egypt

if you want to do it your self you can buy fat OD paint for here http://www.debellajeepparts.com/mbpremier.htm this is the paint that I use on my WWII jeep. I have a can of it too, so if I crach it, I just paint it with the cant tell where it was

how would this look though? will it show mistakes etc? I think i would want to find the paint and have it air sprayed on. idk never painted a car or truck haha.

also, it was my understanding flat paints were much more harder to wash, clean and not very resistant compared to gloss paints. they also wont last as long

You would have to spray it on. you can use a gun or a spray can. the nice thing is that there is no clear cote so you can just paint on spot and it would mach the rest of the car! the paint dos not last as long and get scrached more but they are harder to see and you can just used the can as much as you want to put new pain on in the spot that is crached! I have never wahsed my WWII jeep so I dont know how well it would clean up. it would be less the $100 to paint a jk if you did it your self. I painted a hole pickup truck with spray paint cans ones. it was about $30 in paint

Most of the Mercs and porsches ect you see in matt black are just vinyl wrapped. I just had my evo done and it turned out great. best part is I can just peel it off when its time for a change.
here are some pics http://motordriven.com.au/?p=292&cpage=1

Have a search on youtube and see how its done. There is a good one with a merc SLR.
