I use mine mostly for hauling camping gear, but hope to get a new kayak this year.
Planning on a kayak now, we wanted a rack for camping and were really happy to have room inside, wife and two daughers had plenty of room inside for a change. The quick disconnects just came out, no pics even up yet, I'll probably have the first set this week hopefully.

be sure to post picks of the quick disconnects, I had thought about putting
on some threaded knobs to make it easier but haven't gotten around to it

Will do, but I did find out yesterday they weren't satisfied completely and are tweaking the quick-disconnects again, hopefully they'll be out next week then. 5 minutes with a ratchet is quick-disconnect enough for me to be honest. I can stand on the rock rails and loosen them (two big bolts each side), pretty freaking simple really.

I was up in Commerce City, CO this last Friday and had a stealth rack put on from them. They showed me the quick disconnects and how they would work. They have finalized everything and they are currently being produced in large enough batches to start shipping. I was told by the end of the month at the latest.

Well Paul their engineer and Sandra both told me they had a change on them which they just found. I'll pass this on though, definitely would like to see them. So what's the word on what you saw? Simple design?

Yes, simple design. It was only a couple pieces in the box they showed me. There will be a "cable" attachment as well that will hold the rack leaning backwards.

Yeah forgot about the strap or cable whichever it'll be, should be nice.

SAS,

Seems as your pics disappeared. Can you re-up?

I'm really interested in one of these - love to hear if the quick disconnects have come through yet. I'm always getting caught in storms and although I find it amusing, wife doesn't want any more delat putting up soft top than necessary. I'm thinking getting out a ratchet, removing bolts, putting up top, reinstalling bolts in a thunderstorm sounds unappealing.

Also, the mfg's pics of the frame mounts don't tell me much. Do you think it is a likely catching spot for mud and road salt? I like the no drill but I don't want to create a rusty frame issue either.
