Burnsville up in MN and AEV in Montanna also do them. They primarily use new "crate engines" and transmissions. (Not really crate engines per se, they buy surplus engines from the assembly line, known as "swing engines".) Another route you could look into is finding a good used powertrain (has to be from a 2006 to 200? Commander or Grand Cherokee) and see if you can find a local shop willing to take it on. With the kit from AEV, it is really pretty straight forward. You will also need to buy some miscellaneous parts, but AEV instructions spell all this out as well as provide Jeep part numbers for everything you MAY need to complete the conversion. I know a local shop here just starting doing them for about 30 to 35 hours of labor. The key is pulling the body off. While it can be done by removing the entire front end and fenders, this takes a whole lot more time than lifting the body - if you have a body lift. AEV claims they can lift the body off in 45 minutes. Took myself and a friend 90 minutes. I think we could get it down to 60 minutes if we did it again, but you get my point. And once the body is off, it is just a matter of cutting the old motor mounts off and welding on the new ones as well as welding up the new tranmission mount. The rest is just nuts and bolts and not very hard. AEV's kit covers everything and the instructions are pretty good (although there are a couple of gaps in them!)

So it really depends on how much you want to spend, and how much you want to be involved. You could go turnkey, or do it in your own garage, as many people have done. Or something in between, as in a local shop with a used powertrain. It is really up to you.

4WS is close to you in Springfield Mo, it's 18K. That's where I had mine done.

But Camps got a great deal there! Only problem with Camps Jeeps are they are works of art and if I had one, it would sit in the garage with me just sitting there admiring it.

There is plenty of love for you Camp. I considered the distance from Tennessee to Texas to Arizona and Texas was closer.
