Don't quote me on these exact figures...but 2 feet of water moving at 6mph is equivalent to 90-100 mph winds. I heard some geologist comment during the Japan Tsunami's.

Also...here in AZ, some locations get hit frequently with flash floods and tons of motorists think they can traverse the flooded roadways. Hence why the State implemented the "Stupid Motorist Law":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stupid_Motorist_Law because they all get stuck or washed away!

Personally, I wouldn't risk it! I would be using my jeep to run away from it...not run through it!

You do realize all th rain is salt water right? So I would suggest not fording through it.

I'v had mine up to the the bottom of the headlights. You will take on water into the floor boards quicker than you will max out for depth as long as you enter the water slowly. Be careful about whats in the water that you cant see. Remember the intake is on the pass side where the hood line is, as noted in this pic.

A friend's Jeep. Evidently too deep. Lol.

No need to run from a hurricane. It's just a little wind and a little rain. By the time it hits Jersey... it'll just be a rainstorm. I'm in Va Beach and we're supposed to get hit from it pretty good. No worries, though. Just don't be a dummy.
