I got a V8
Well after 1300 miles on the interstate and being asked almost every time I got gas about the MPG's (Why is it the first words out of peoples mouths after nice Jeep is "what kind of gas mileage do you get?") I thought I'd post it here.
Going down to MO with the 3.8L, 3.73 gears, empty Jeep doing 70 to 75 I averaged 11.0 MPG's.
MO to KY with the 5.7L, 4.1, gears and with 2 extra front seats, drive shafts, pinion gears, rear axle shafts, 8 qts of oils, and luggage, guessing 70 to 90 MPH (not trying to do 90) 11.4 MPG.
KY to AL averaging 80 MPH (Testing cruise at 80 up and down hills) 10.0 MPG. Outside of wheelin I've never seen it that low before, But my jeep had never seen 80 before either.
AL to IL with 4 extra cases of Mountain Dew trying to keep it 75 MPH, Did a real good job until I had to drop the speed down to 55 because of the snow, 12.7. After dropping to 55 13.2 MPG's
My Jeep is rather heavy. front & rear bumper, roof rack, skid plates, winch, three batteries, 4 speed breaks disguised as lights, sitting on 305/65R18's so mileage hasn't been good in a long time.
Even with all the extra stuff thrown in the back, slightly lower gearing, it is better now then before! How can Chrysler justify not offering this as an option?
I still have not taken it off road. Not really any way. I did drive by Attica and told my wife we could always just stop for the night and go home after a short stop at the Badlands. She was having none of that as she seems to think Barbados is more appealing.

Corbeau had brackets, but they said they did not work with the air bag sensor. Kevin at 4WS adapted the stock brackets to work and retain the sensor. The seats are real nice. Way more comfortable then the sock ones. You need to be a small person though. By small I mean no more than a 36 inch waist. I now need to redo the back seats so they match the front.
As far as getting the Hemi out of your mind, I spent the last 9 days in Barbados and I had more than one dream about the sound of the Hemi accelerating through the gears.

And yes on the seats. Special edition ones. I really like the white stitching on the black and the silver harness and reclining mechanism. I just read the site, so I'll have to change my post to you have to be small as they only come in the 36"
