Default Installed HighRock 4x4 Slider Steps

I know a lot of people here don't like these slider steps, but here are my reasons for buying them:

1. I have 3 young kids and since i put my lift on, the kids have had a really hard time climbing into ithe jeep without help.
2. They covered two mods with one purchase: step/sliders
3. Price was right.

I bought the Bestop slider steps for $370 delivered. Got the steps about a week later in two large boxes. They are pretty heavy, almost 80lbs per side. I had some trouble installing them because the holes don't line up exactly so you have to use a screw driver or prybar to help line up the bolt holes (on one side, the other side lined up fine). The brackets, unfortunately, mount only to the crimp seem and the underside of the body. Not to the frame. Although, once everthing was bolted up it is a very solid/protective hunk of metal.

The steps are great and can be pulled out and lowered to make it even easer to get in or out. The kids and wife now enjoy riding in the jeep again.

Nice, I'm sure the family will appreciate them. Do you think they will take abuse from rocks, or will you have to avoid that kind of thing?

Good product, but one day, if you want to put a body lift, you will have to remove the steps.

I don't plan on abusing them on the rocks, but should be able to take an impact fairly well. They are made out of 1/4" steel plate.

No there isn't. Electric steps would be cool and i think bestop makes them but they don't look like these. They are very expensive (around $2k) and are just steps, not sliders. With the steps up the kids have no problems getting in, so i will probably just leave them up. That is until i get 37's, then they'll be really handy.
