I think it's just for the snow/weather.
I have mine - but thought the rental was pretty cool

No they rent year round I think. If anything, winter is when they wouldn't rent....
I went up to Townsend/Cade's Cove the other day and it seemed like I was waving at someone at every corner I went around....... They were all rental Jeeps and the folks didn't have a clue to wave lol. I think there are a couple of Jeep rental places around....

Looks like at least two- I'm guessing folks tour around in them. And you're right; they don't wave back

Yeah theres not many places to wheel around here. I visit Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge often, its about a 2.5 hr drive for me. Back when I was younger you could take up in the woods but land has been sold and people just went and tore the land up, left trash. People just don't have any respect any more.
