I have family in Redding, so I have been around that area a fair amount. Although it also looks like the area I live in as well

Lassen County is correct but the East slope on the Nevada side. Good guess and yes it is similar in a lot of ways.

I used to go up that way a bit when I lived in Tahoe. Absolutely love the country.
