Jeeps in beautiful places
Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend are near Page, AZ. Unless they've gotten it repaired, Hwy 89 to the south is out with major repairs needed (about a 100 yard section washed down the cliffside). A few months ago we took the dirt road House Rock Road to get from nearby Pareah to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. If you go to Antelope Canyon (I've not yet stopped at Horseshoe Bend), recommend timing it for around just before midday and hang around to catch the best light. And don't forget your camera tripod (like I did--that is a one-half second handheld exposure. On film, no less.)!

Canyon de Chelly (pronounced "shay") is near Chinle, AZ. The only place that one may enter the canyon without hiring a Navajo guide is the White House Hiking Trail. Otherwise, you're restricted to the paved roads around the rim. It isn't cheap, but hiring a guide and driving into the canyon is an awesome experience. Here's a video from our trip there last year ...
