JK Show & TellWhether they're just poser shots in your driveway or hardcore action shots on the trail, if you've got photos or videos of your Jeep JK Wrangler (or any JK for that matter that you think is worth showing off, inside or out), we want to see them so please post them here! Likewise, if you are wanting to see a photo of something specific like an aftermarket JK part or poser shot with a specific setup, this is the place to ask for it.
Hello All! I've been enjoying camping/overlanding out of my Jeep with my family for the past year or so. Thought I'd share my setup!
I have an OVS Mamba Roof Top Tent, which has proven to be quite good. I've had this tent for about 3 years now, probably spent 30+/- nights in it. It's large enough to be comfortable for two adults. The mattress left a bit to be desired, so I added an additional 2" foam mattress, as well as an air mattress. My wife is a side sleeper, so this was a must for comfort. This past summer, I added a Rhino Rack Batwing 270 degree awning, which has helped a lot to keep us out of the sun in the summer, and I've made a couple wet trips with it as well for rain protection. This was from this past summer on the Whipsaw trail up in BC
I struggled finding a good solution to store my gear and keep it organized in the back of the Jeep, so I designed my own out of CNC cut and bent aluminum. I really didn't want to block the factor JKU rear storage.
I'm also working through a cooktop solution to hold my Coleman cooktop on the tailgate.
The Jeep itself is very modestly built 2013 Sahara 6-speed. 2.5" Mammoth lift, 33" all terrains, I also just did 4.88 gears and an Eaton True Trac rear just prior to the Whipsaw trip.
I'm hoping to get more time to go out and play on the trails in the Jeep, and make some more more custom designs that make camping/overlanding in the Jeep easier!
There's a crew of about 4-5 of us that get out as often as we can. I'm the only JK at the moment. I pay for lack of breakover, being the 4-door, but they are jealous of how much room I have for gear. I often end up loading mine up with some of their gear so they can enjoy their small, nimble rigs more.
That looks Great, I'm defiantly impressed, would you have a copy of the parasolid .x_t x_b or .dxf files you'd be willing to share ?
I was a machinist/programmer 41 years and the company moved the CNCs and stuck me in quality but have a friend with a large CNC mill and Laser
and would defiantly like to do something like that before Moab trip in March
is the top plate a sandwich with composite center ?
Again that is nice

@Weevil , hola from the other side of the metroplex. In case you've never been to Moab, if you'd care for any tips or advice on what to see based on what you like, send me a PM! I love that area, though it's really changed over the years. Last time I was up there in 2024 they were breaking ground on $1M+ condos all along the river which was wiping out a lot of previous primitive camping areas.
