Hmmm. I learned that brown bear=grizzly. And there aren't any grizzlies in GA (well, maybe in Atlanta at the zoo). Black bears are called black bears, even if brown or blond in color.

Bottom line: Look for that distinctive hump above the shoulders to ID a grizzly (as seen in the picture leading off the thread).

Wow...I lived in pretty backwoods Maryland for 18 years of my life and never saw anything like that.

Ive seen as many as 4 bears on a single mountain bike ride here in Montana. Ive never seen a grizzly, but Ive had others ahead of me on the trail see them.

Awesome pics! I love BC too. Even if my extent of a visit is the Pan Pacific in Whistler.

I go to Whistler 2-3 times a year for about a week each time to mountain bike. I love that place. What do you do when you go?

Im glad I only live about an hour from BC.

sweet....my dad's buddy lived in Golden BC and he'd shoot blackbears off the porch....and big horn sheep, and anything that moved across the property (the good old days).....LOL....we'd go watch the blackbears at the dump.....

Have a old school mate that lives in BC, I don't think he has seen much of the wild life out there. Would love to myself one day.
