Made the Console Dog-Friendly!
If you are like me, and have your dog in the jeep 50% of the time, you probably have had the problem of him/her standing on the console...you barely tap the breaks and your best friend come crashing into the front. Well to solve this problem this is what I did:
Required:
2 SureStep grip pads ($7.98 for pair at Wal Mart in auto section)
Scissors
5 minutes
The strips come with a fairly decent adhesive so I just cut the lengths to match the curvature of the console, peeled off backing and stuck them on. In the view from the back you will notice my cutting was horrible...but that is because I had them on already and realized that you cant take them all the way to "hinge gap" in the back as the "tread" will keep the console form opening. So if you do this cut the strips about 1/2" shorter than the gap.
I like it as I have the quadratech floor liners and these are almost the exact same pattern, it doesn't feel any worse when I drive with my arm on there, might be a little tougher to clean now, but that is worth it if it keeps my furry friend from hurting herself.
