I welded a plate into the factory holes and cut out a new hole for the factory fog lights. I made spacers to go inbetween the bumper and light brackets and screwed them down. Sorry for the late reply

I love the look but are there any dangers associated with removing the over shell of the bumper? Is it a crunch zone for accidents? Any weather damage? Etc...

Nice job in the OP!

The only caution that I would voice is whether the bolts holding the brackets for the D-rings have enough tensile strength to handle the worst-case scenario. Would hate to see that thing flying through somebody's windshield.

I've got a stock bumper. Once it warms up I'm going to do this.

I think I'm going to have someone weld end pieces on it too
