I also painted my muffler when I painted my wheels but I used a high temp paint on the muffler (just in case)! It does look so much better to my eyes

Looks like mine. I did both mine and my girls JK. Funny, I had no rust on my secondhand 08 from the salt belt.

My girls JK is a 2010 with just now, 10000 miles and the paint was flaking off her rear axle (New Mexico Jeep with one winter).

Both my front and rear axles had rust on them the day I got home with my 2011. Had 30 miles on her when I pulled in the driveway.

Thought i would bring this thread back to life. I am putting a new stubbby bumper on and my front axel is starting to look rusty. When I take stock bumper off can I just take wire brush to axel, clean then spray. Plan to use rustoleum, what should I tape off, was thinking of taping of wheels to cover rotors and breaks, is there anything else I should be worried about spraying with paint?
