Default My Blue Clinometer. Thanks forum.

Thanks to this board I FINALLY connected this to the Wranglers power system making it bright and dimable.

When originally purchased this two years ago it had a little bulb in it for light. But I wanted it BLUE. That's just how I am

So I decided to take the little bulb out and replace it with 6 blue LEDs from Radioshack.

I painted the inside of the clinometer white (to reflect the most light).
Then I wired up the six leds and glued them into place with a glue gun.

At that point I connected them to a battery pack. I would have to turn it on and off when I needed it. And they were not very bright.

Last week I FINALLY got it into my head that I wanted to take on connecting it to the power system in my Jeep.

The hardest part for me was to figure out the resistance I would need to go from the 12v power system to six 3.5v leds in parallel.

I found this handy calculator...
h t t p://www.hebeiltd.com.cn/?p=zz.led.resistor.calculator

I in put what I had and it told me what I needed. Since I could not find (at radioshack) the resistor I needed I used three in series.

Then I found this thread which told me which wires to use so that it would come on with the interior lighting and be dimable.

https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...light+solution

Finally I found this page that told me how to splice off the interior wiring without compromising the integrity of the original wiring using "Tap Soldering"

I hope you like it. I do.
