my custom made tube fenders-armor
I wanted to change my fenders for some metal ones, I was ready to buy some aftermarket , but then I decided to have them made, so I went to a local shop and between the manager, the welder and myself, we came up with a design. I took a little bit of ideas of all the ones I've seen. hope you guys like them comments are welcome.
here they are taking shape

the hardest part was to make the holes in the jeep.....ouch

we are still testing to make a perfect fit.

brave indeed
I was thinking about that last night before we made the holes, I can drive the jeep around if I want too, but I don't need it so i just left it at the shop, we figured it was going to take 3 days to make them, its been 4 days now not counting the weekend, today they are almost ready, but we are going to start making the rear ones, so I won't paint them until I have everything finished. I'm not worried about time, I just want to make them as nice as possible.

I'm just going the same route that I've seen, it is pretty strong with the thick metal on top of the factory fender, I'm using some spacers inside the fender where is hollow to make it stronger. I don't know if that makes sense.
we are still testing a bit on the tubing, but pretty much this is what is going to be like.

also those are not the screws we are going to use, that's all we had at the time.
