Default Need opinions please.... Rear tire delete and grille...

OK gang. Did a few things to the jeep over this weekend. One was the install of a 2.5 BB that included new shocks. LOVE IT.. Ride is better, but I need new LCA's since it is "wandering"all over. But that is another post....

Opinion #1:

I need some opinions. I am truly 50'/50 on the fence about this. I really don't care for the spare tire on my JK. To be honest I never have cared for them. So I removed it today to see if I would like it. I really don't know. I can tell you there is a noticeable difference in power. Not like adding a supercharger, but the drop in weight feels nice. I just took the tire and carrier off. If I am going to keep is this way I will get the delete plate and plugs. I like it, and I don't like it... So give me some thoughts and ideas guys.. But please, be nice.. LOL

Here are some pics....

Opinion #2:

I have been loving the rigs with the front grille painted black. BUT with the painted fenders like my Sahara, it does not go as well as with the black non painted fenders, so I was thinking about a darker silver or "gunmetal" color. I did some Photoshop work and came up with 2 ideas "pics below". One is just a darker silver grille like the mountain edition, and the other is the same grille and wheels to match. I do not have $$ for new wheels right now but I do plan on that mod soon.. Wcha all think??? I have been searching all over the new for a mountain edition grille or a darker silver one with NO luck. I guess I could any grille and paint to match. Pics here:

As far as option #1, so no spare at all? No spare is bad MoJo. I was thinking about doing something like this pic (not my rig). Couldn't handle being out on the road or trail without a spare.

I know. And I agree. That is one of the things I think also. But I have had several, no MANY vehicles in my life and never once had to change a tire with a spare. Now that I said that tomorrow I will have a flat. But I share the same concern. Since I have bigger tires and only got 4 due to $$ constraints I am not even sure that the spare I have will work in case of a flat..

I have a mountain edition and really like the mineral gray grille. You can buy cans of mineral gray spray paint and paint your grill or find a used one in a different color and spray it.

I took my spare tire carrier off like 3 years ago. And I don't have a full size spare. I wheel quite a bit, and knock on wood, never had a problem. Buuuut then again almost everyone I go with has a 33 too. I love it but I want to relocate my license plate. The flaps in the vent get dry rotted eventually and fall off, still no problems, no rusting. Also I see you are in PA as well. Just remember you have to have a 3rd brake light to pass inspection. Fortunately, my inspection guy is a good guy and doesn't say anything, he knows I have one but don't use it, and he knows I would just take it off again. I have ran into the problem of them not passing me until I go get it and put it on. (Pain in the a$$). Personally I like the look of not having a tire back there, plus you can see a lot better too.

1. I would like to do the same regarding the spare removal. There are lots of cars now-a-days that don't even offer spare tires. I would feel reasonably comfortable driving around town without a spare, but would hate to make a long trip or do any wheeling without one. The other reason that I have yet to do it yet is dropping maybe $150 on the tramp stamp, license plate relocation plug, 3rd brake light, etc. I'm sure I will do it at some point, but I hate paying to remove vehicle functionality.

2. You have some photo shop skills. How about creating me some black plastidip wheels and grill? I say go for the wheels and grill, it looks awesome!

Thanks.. You can get the tire delete plate for under $50 on eBay. The tramp stamp is overpriced and I hate that the logo is cut into it.

Photoshop?? I did that with a mouse, lol.. I have a Bamboo pen tablet when I really want to do some artwork. I have a degree in art and design but threw that together in like 5 min...
