Default OMJ, the no-lift Jeep...

Anyone else like keeping their JK at the stock height? I might add spacers up front to counter-act the weight of the winch, but otherwise have no intention, and no desire, to lift it. The 265/16's are tall enough for me, on the stock suspension. All I've done is wheels & tires, and the winch. Figure I may drop the gearing and add an Ox locker. Or two. And a rack to carry some "stuff." Gotta love stuff.

This isn't the first 4x4 I've set up this way, stock height but traction-adding diffs, good shocks, bigger/good tires and a winch - it's a good combination that lets me go where I want off-pavement, yet doesn't get real high for in town or highway driving. Thinking back, the JK is the fourth 4x4 I've set up like this. Anybody else tend to do the same, or is everyone here lift crazy?

I don't think it's just because I'm pushing 60 years old - but yeah - maybe it is just an Old Man's Jeep!

I think Jeeps look really good at stock height and with beefier tires...just like yours. I bought my Jeep with a 4.5" lift and 35's already on it though, so although I do like how yours looks, I don't think I'll be downsizing. Never owned a lifted vehicle before this one, but I gotta say...I rather like being higher up in the seat around town and on the highway. It makes it way easier to anticipate the traffic in front of you. Also, I like it when my Jeep makes Hummers look small. LOL.

I dig 2.5 inch lifts. On my second one. I think it gives a JK the look it should have had from the factory.

TF 2.5 lift w 33x12.5 A/T's

RK 2.5 lift w 34x12 M/T's

.....Got my '12 Rubi back in April and I said to myself let me keep it stock for a year. My last JKU had a lift & 35s (see sig below). Well fast forward, about ~2 mos ago I added a 1" TF spacer to eliminate the rake and now I am waiting on delivery of my 2.5" RK lift. This time around instead of running 35s, I am going to see how 33s are (my weird version of keeping it sorta stock [mild ] by running smaller tires w/not too much lift)..Who knows how long that will last I commend you for keeping it stock that takes a lot of will power....These Jeeps are just too fun & so tempting to MOD the heck out of it....

Stock Jk's look great and are also very capable offroad. However, for offroad 'up-sizing' opens up a whole other bag of fun. I started out with mine stock, with a good 31" tire. Wasn't going to do anything to it. Once I started going out on trails and climbing over rocks, it was just the beginning.. the mod bug hit... I'll only own a jeep that's modded and lifted etc.

I like the way your jeep looks. Mine is stock and I've taken it all kinds of fun places. I've had to drag its belly across some boulders but that's what the armor is for. I do run 32" m/t. It hasnt "not made" any obstacles yet. I won't be spending money upgrading anything until the stock parts fail. I may add a rack though.

I've kept my JKU stock height and toyed with lifting it. I put 285/70/17 on and I think the stance it great. I too plan on a rack. At the moment, I have no use for it lifted. I'll save that money on some fun lighting for now
