Painted Stock Wheels Graphite Today
So after much research on here and other places I finally felt confident enough to paint my stock silver Moabs graphite today (since I love the Mountain edition/Call of Duty look) It took 5 hours to complete then I let them sit for 3 1/2 hours before mounting them. I used Duplicolor self etching primer, Duplicolor wheel coating Graphite color, and Duplicolor wheel coating Clear coat. I put 2 coats of primer, 3 coats of graphite, and 3 coats of clear.
First I washed the wheels and used lacquer thinner on the tires (where the rims meet).
Taped the wheels off with newspaper covering the tires.
Then I scuffed them up with 320 grit sand paper and then wiped the wheels down with alcohol.
I put the coats of primer on let sit for 30 minutes then lightly scuffed them up with the sand paper again.
Then the coats of graphite and let it sit for 30 minutes.
And finally the coats of clear and they set for 3 1/2 hours before mounting.
The prep is what takes the longest. Also, I bought a Rustoleum spray gun attachment for a more even spray and to save my fingers. I have before, during, and after pictures to view. The during and after pics are from my cell phones will get better pics later this week.

Thanks everyone for the great comments. I seriously was thinking about black but then I saw a Mountain edition 2 door and fell in love with the graphite color. Oh and the brakes are so clean because I only have 1,650 miles on the JK.
