Looking at getting either the OR Fab or LOD bumper with stinger.
So for me, it was down to the LOD and OR-Fab. I thought they both looked good and had good welds with serious tubing and the appropriate gussets to keep the stinger from bending into the grill and hood in a tump-over. For me the final decision was the cost factor. I got a good deal on the OR-Fab, paying around $300, vs. much more for the LOD.

I think if you get a stinger bumper, you want the stinger to be functional. I've seen some bumpers that I swear look like the stinger wouldn't do anything but look cool right before it crushes in on your hood in an ass-over-nose situation. To me, there were only a few that I gave serious consideration after seeing them up close: Poison Spyder, LOD, and OR-Fab. I'm sure the other brands are fine too, but I wanted something that looked sturdy enough to make me feel comfortable spending that much on forward-flop protection. The Poison Spyder looked pretty good, but I honestly didn't like its looks as much as the OR-Fab or the LOD, and I wasn't keen on having to do surgery on my jeep to get it on. Add to that the fact that it ships in the white, not powdercoated, and at minimum costs just as much as the other two, and it was a non-option for me. That's not to bad mouth it, I'm sure it's a great bumper, it just wasn't the one for my jeep or my pocketbook.

Ok, I hate to ask but what is the purpose of the stinger style bumper? Call me a newb I guess!
