May start tackling this project this weekend. I got a Lincoln 180-amp 220V MIG a few months back and the first major project may start this Saturday. I am drawing it up now. will probably use 1" square tubing since it is MUCH easier to work with. I am planning on using expanded metal mesh for the base (reinforced with 2" wide plate running crossways). The kicker is that I plan to make the rack so I can flip it over and use it as a canopy for camp outs etc. Other goodies will be front and rear light tabs and mounts for a shovel and a hi-lift jack.

Mine's about half way done now. One of the mods I'm doing is welding the supports at the front straight to the Mopar windshield brackets for a cleaner look. Hope to get it finished next week. Will post more info and pics when she's mounted and tested.

Scanned sketches as promised. This is what I plan to do with at least part of the weekend while my gf is working. Have a look at these and let me know what you guys think.
