Roof top Mombassa Tent
Packed up pictures. Ill post some more opened up and inside pics tonight.

I really like this feature. It zips around 3 of the 4 sides to make it even more weather resistant. There is no opening and the heavy rubber canvas material extends down past the zippers so they are not even exposed. The zipper is a big heavy zipper, no cheapy....

Thanks for the pictures! Looks worth the money. Espically the amount you paid! And sorry to ask more questions, but you said it could be mounted in different directions, does that include with the ladder and opening going towards the rear?
Yes, depending on the rack you have, it can face any direction. The instructions have that set up in them. Its the same thing only you cut the mounting rails down shorter. But on our Jeeps, they are wide enough that you can skip the cutting and just turn the tent another 90 degrees and mount it (depending on your rack). And dont worry about the questions. Ive asked a crap load of questions on here. Thats what its for!
Thanks man. alright...
1- Yes the MBRP is the rack that attaches to thye sides. I went with it because it holds 900 pds. So the tent and two people are way under what it can handle.
2- Support straps? I think you are talking about the black straps on the other side hanging over. The are for when the tent is closed up and the cover is on. They just run along the top and pull everything tight and compact.
3- The ladder does not extend much further. But they make a ladder extension for that reason. I thinks its like $50 or something.
4- It feel very safe. Actually I thought it would be a little more wobbly then it is but it is very sturdy feeling. I could jump up and down on the aluminum base and it wouldnt break.
5- Yes you can set it up to face all 4 directions. The instructions are very clear that come with it and tell you how to face it any way you want.
- let me know if you have any more questions. Ill post a few more pics up tonight. I have to show the girlfriend so Ill have open and closed pics of the tent.

thanks for the reply, haha I don't know why I thought that was a support strap or something, seeing the pictures of how it mounts makes a lot more sense than what I imagined. One more question though, does the ladder act as a support or is the half of the tent that is cantilevered self supporting?
