What a rip! You have to pay $80 for the mount, than $9 more for a tool need for install. That's more than I paid for the jack.

It's a tap for the roll bar. You'd need other tools too that would need to be purchased if you didn't have them. They are just offering the exact tool you need for convenience. Just saying.

I don't get a flat in the winter. That's all there is to it.

Nope. I don't see the need. In the back I have sub's, amps and recovery gear. I wanted a secure clean look. I have done a lot of custom work over the years, so I try to keep it simple.

I will take a few pics tonight and try to post tomorrow and let you know how I made it. I appreciate the compliments.

I don't have a write up, but i'm no fabrication expert. I spent weeks trying to figure out where to mount it so that it would be out of the way. I purchased the Hi-lift mount and drilled it onto my Mopar bumper such that the tire carrier could still swing out.

I heard that there was a ratchet strap that was in testing where you could mount a Hi-lift and some gas tanks to the spare tire, but I just bought the mount and started walking around the jeep until i found a spot that worked.

Now, when I buried in mud and have to dig in to get it off that might be a problem, but I was going for more of the Overland look so this worked for me.

By the way, I still can't figure out why my profile pic doesn't show (not that it matters, but it's driving me crazy).

Closer look at the stanard mount.

I sure like the look of that trunk cover concept. Anywhere to purchase one?
