, was that if I would pay 24 payments, once every two weeks, at $450 of my $900 a month total, it would pay more towards the principal because the interest rate wasnt doing as much damage. Then on top of that paying in that extra cash really knocks it down faster. But like I said, people need jumbo crayola crayons while talking to me about finances.
There are tax implications, and if things go sideways an early payoff date/ plan will not protect you from foreclosure. That said, we do the bimonthly payment plan and are cutting about 3 years off 15 year mortgage. Also make big interest payments in December for taxes.

Forgot to include my JKU in the garage!
Forgot to include my JKU in the garage!

When my grandmother died a few years ago my dad inherited the house. Since graduating my parents, girlfriend, and I have been renovating the whole house inside and outside. It's been a huge undertaking but when it's done my girlfriend and I will be renting it from my parents for next to nothing, allowing them to sit on the house without spending a penny till the market increases, and the two of us a place to live together cheaply, allowing us to save for bigger and better things, as well as pay off school/create a stable financial backing.
And of course I had to show my money pit in the pic as well! Haha

I love my home but living in the woods is a lot of work. Chores are NEVER done. Plus we heat our home with woodstoves so spring and fall is firewood splitting season!
