JK Show & TellWhether they're just poser shots in your driveway or hardcore action shots on the trail, if you've got photos or videos of your Jeep JK Wrangler (or any JK for that matter that you think is worth showing off, inside or out), we want to see them so please post them here! Likewise, if you are wanting to see a photo of something specific like an aftermarket JK part or poser shot with a specific setup, this is the place to ask for it.
Some rubber extensions at eBay cost $20 a pair. I find out at Home Depot by Plummer section a rubber pipe for five dollars and some change measure cut it Installed. This spare tire is 35 inches.
That's a good short term fix, I used it myself, but you'll want to come up with a real plan for carrying that tire. I've seen plenty of those extenders start peeling away at the welds and end up holding the tire weird. You should also note that the carrier is a weird cast alloy and they aren't fond of the extra weight. You'll get by for a while, but it will fail you.
You know, I get why in '07 that they maybe didn't know that 35's would just become the new 33's and why the tailgate hinges and tire carrier might have seemed adequate at the time, but by by the time they updated the interior and went to the 3.6L, they saw how these JKs were being modded. There's really no reason that they shouldn't have redesigned the hinges and tire carrier at that time. Why did it take all the way until the JL before that got done? dumb.
