Default Thank You Rough Country; Hello Teraflex

After much deliberation and research, I'm finally making the move and replacing my 4" Rough Country lift that I currently have, and going to a 4" Teraflex lift. In the year and a half that I've had the Rough Country lift, I must say that it has a been a great lift and gotten me through some tricky trails - from Hot Springs, AR to Colorado, and the customer service with Ben and other RC folks has been phenomenal. Thanks for all the support and assistance.

My new 4" Teraflex is sitting at the house, and will be installed this Sunday thanks to the help of some good friends and forum members . Special thanks to Joe @ Teraflex and David @ Northridge4x4 for hooking me up with some great deals. I guess I've answered the call to join the Dark Side .

Short arm. Since the RC 4" lift I had on was just a basic kit ($499 at the time), I'd added adj. trackbars, Tera front LCA, Tera rear UCAs, quick disconnects, and driveshafts over time. I've heard some great reviews on this setup and am excited to see how the difference feels. I'll post my feedback on the height, ride quality, etc. sometime early next week

Nice usage of that pic!! Can't wait to see the final pics and your impressions between the 2 kits.

Primarily to regain my lost height. My RC 4" lift netted me exactly 4" when we first installed it. Over time, I've added more things - OR-Fab Tire carrier, 35" spare, hi-lift Jack, Jerry Cans, Front RR Bumper, Stinger, Winch, etc. and the added weight has caused it to sag quite a bit to where I have less than 3" of lift from where I started. And as I've continued building my JK, a good majority of the parts I've added are Teraflex (diff covers, control arms, quick disconnects, etc.) and it's time to convert it from a frankenlift to a full Tera. When I first started off, I didn't have near as much knowledge of lifts and what all went into it, and was very limited on budget. For what I could afford at the time, the RC lift has done very well and haven't had any issues to really speak of (had an issue with a couple of leaking shocks that was promptly addressed and fixed ).

So, my general reason for going this direction is 1. to regain my lost lift, and 2. to make it a complete lift from it's frankenlift stage.

Thanks Joe . I couldn't let such a neat pic go to waste . Most of Tera products ARE dark (in color), after all .

I'll be sure to post my review of the differences I notice between the two. Thanks for your help

Finished swapping the RC 4" for the TF 4" yesterday thanks to the help of good friends and forum members. The JK now sits an astounding 2" - 2.5" taller than the RC kit it replaced. Have not yet done a alignment since there's a little more work to be done Wednesday at Screamin Lizard Customs when a new Coast 1310 Rear Driveshaft goes in alongwith TF rear coil perch install and steel braided brake lines are added with a full alignment.

But the initial impression is that there's a huge difference in the ride and feel. It has a much firmer feel than compared to before . On the con side, my mild DW around 30 - 35mph is now become a full DW at 40 - 45mph, and that's something I'm working on . Will check it again after the rest of the work is done and an alignment, but the torque setting on all the components is set to spec.

Overall, I'm stoked with the new lift. Here are a few pictures taken by Mark D during the install; I'll post up some pictures of the JK later this afternoon when I get a chance to take some .
