Is anybody running 235/85r16 on stock jk with pics and would these fit no rubbing these are narrow so would they be good in snow and mud? I may just stay with 255/70r16 till lift.
I don't see what you would gain over the stock tires, slightly taller, but narrower. Should fit no issue, and there is a fit/no fit reference available. Unless you're just itching to spend money, I'd leave it alone.

That's the size of the General Grabber AT2s I'm running. No rubbing at all. The snow pic is before the TF leveling kit.
They are great everywhere, except when you break through the ice and need a winch and a pick axe! (well come-along in this case, I'm convinced that even 42"s would've failed at that spot
) I don't have any good mud pics right now. I'll try finding some.

First post. My JKU has been mine now for two weeks. Nice purchase from a dealer with a bunch of base 2010 sports left on the lot.
Jeepsta, strangely I have been thinking about the 235/85R16s as well. I am in central Maine and head north from here often in the winter. I want a serious snow setup but need to stay at 32" max for now. Using the 16x7s would be a bonus. I have the 6 speed and the 3.73 gears as the only factory option.
I think a 9.5" tire would be great for sloppy, icy snow (the Wrangler STs aren't quite 9"), but the 235/85-16s are all E load rated. Maybe with tons of sidewall height, they HAVE to be E rated?
I don't want to buy these only to get a diesel locomotive ride. Anybody run skinny E's on a JK? Better ride than regular/wide Es? Anybody run pizza cutters outside of winter?
ClaytonT: Are those Generals 235/85s?
