For sure pull the latch down it levels out the top and it does prevent damage to the top, and make sure you dont crank down too much I did and the damn nut broke off from the fact weld I had to go back and put some tacks on it right below it you can see the latch you need to fold down

Yes, put the tab down before you lock it down. I've been thinkin about taking mine out and wheelin it!

Then again that's all I think about when it comes to the Jeep.
