I see guys all over the place who have tinted their tail lights and I'm going to kick someones ass the first time I run into them on the freeway. I've got my side marker and turn signals very lightly tinted but the tail lights? No way man.

Default Plasti Dipped the grill, bra and Hood scoop

Plasti dipped the grill and front part of the hood to prevent stone chips in the paint. Wife suggested doing the hood scoop too to make it look better. I'll probably redo it just before winter in Ohio. Stones and salt wreak havoc on hood paint.

If you put red led bulbs in to replace the factory clear bulbs, they are just as bright red, if not brighter, than any normal tail lights. I got mine off ebay, so its not painted, its real black lens. But plenty bright with the led bulbs.

Just yesterday I was thinking that someone could make a tail light housing that's black inside, red bulb, and a clear lens to both be safe and look good at the same time. Maybe they're already black inside, haven't removed the lens on mine yet. I've got a cracked lens so when I go to replace it I'll tint it first and compare the lux reading with and without a red bulb.

edit: I just noticed you indicated that you've got LED bulbs... I can see that working. Not with incandescent though.

Do you have a link to the real black lens? I just looked on ebay and didn't see anything like that.

I cleaned the inside of the windows and layer them on a flat surface and sprayed it. I sprayed them on the inside. They look awesome from the outside but from the inside they are a little blotchy. Still serve the purpose i needed it too. It took two cans because i took the two back side windows dark. I can still see cars in my rearview mirror through the back window as well. Will take some pics from the inside to let you see what im talking about.

Did you get just the lens or the entire light assembly? I found the light assemblies but not just the lens. They are $142 - does that sound right?
