What was done to your JK this week?
Yes, I had that thought based on the pics too. But not only is it very beefy, with bolts that are HD, but it bolts AND RESTS directly on the front frame. So if you take a hit, the force of impact will be transferred to the frame, not the bolts. Do you see those two holes on the bottom about 5" in from the ends? That's where it bolts into the frame. It also looks very clean, smooth. I'll take and post pics later.
I got this idea from the, six dollar mount , and the Spare tire Hi-Lift Mount (Lots of pics)
thanks for the inspiration
With stock x wheels a 3 1/8" Inside diameter u bolt for Leaf springs fits perfect in both the jack and between the rim ,
I drilled one 1/2 inch hole in the top of the tire mount about an inch back Slipped the u-bolt through the hole, mounted the tire . The u bolt is so perfectly spaced there is no room for any side to side wiggle , ( I will still weld it when i get home but very solid now)
Grade 8 ubolt from advanced auto parts was 10.00
Thanks to both of you for the write ups
