This is how I mounted my RoadyXT. I use the FM transmitter. I added a lighter plug behind the center console, so the RoadyXT plug is not seen.

I did something similar. I have power windows so I couldn't put it there, I put it on the dash. I ran power from the left outlet so my XM turns off with the ignition.

OK guys I love what you have done but for those of us who do not like to break plastic parts (especially from the dash) could you at least give me some pointers as to where to search so I know where the clips are and the order of removing the dash plates so I dont start with the "rong one".....

Well, not exactly. The very bottom plastic cover (not shown) is the only one I removed. The clips are on the bottom side of the cover. I pulled the bottom corner & it popped the rest out (no problems). I searched out the cigarette lighter wires behind the dash and spliced another cigarette lighter into it. Only the one I added is hidden behind the console. I used the supplied sticky tape to mount the base for the RoadyXT between the vents. I then ran the power and antenna wires in the crevasse below and to the right of the tear (level) that the RoadyXT is mounted on. I plugged the power in the newly installed power plug and ran the antenna under the dash and along the door seal to the top center of the windshield.
This is the "not exactly" part. I did try to remove another portion of the console, but ended up loosing a "clippy thing" in the great unknown somewhere behind the dash.

That's essentially what I did, except for the losing parts thing.

He's exactly right, about 5lbs of pressure and the bottom panel pops right off. Use wire clips to splice into the hot and ground out to the screw that's right behind the panel. Fish the wires where you want them and use the FM transmitter.

I'm working on another accessory for the door sills. I haven't got it completed yet, but I am using black 3M Safety Walk (non slip tape, for steps & ladders) to cover the door sills. I already have the tape peices cut, but the temp is in the 20's and it's just too dang cold to finish. I got a 4" x 180" roll of the non slip tape from The Home Depote for about $ 20 so there will be plenty left over for other projects.

The Target mounts I saw attached with a sticker back, not through the vents. Well one of them was a vent kind which I knew wouldn't fit but I think I am going to go with one of the sticker attached kind. So far they are the best ones I've seen. Some of them are too bulky but these were nice and slim lined. Good luck finding one....I just wish I had my Jeep to put it in!!!! I can't wait anymore.....I probably still have 5 or 6 weeks to go before delivery.

good one Robar, I may try it, please post some pics....and on the subject of accessories...has anyone found any wheel locks. I took one off and tried the local
auto parts store and none have the same shape on the base of the lug.
Thanks

Roady looks nice... I have a inno that I am going to mount in same spot... My only question is..... have you had any trouble with the heat loosening up the backing tape? Man I wish XM was an option with jeep.... not a big sirus fan... hooked on xm mainly for O&A and Ron&Fez.

Well I wasn't a satellite radio fan until I got this one for free. But to answer your question is, no. I haven't had any problem with the sticky backing that came with the mount. The mount sits behind and between the vents. I don't think the mount gets any heat at all. The back of the RoadyXT could get a little heat, but the vents are usually pointed in the direction of an occupant.
