Default 09 hartop changes

couldn't find any comment on the 09 yet...(maybe i didn't look hard enough). so.... here we GO!! looked at an 09 today with hardtop. what a bunch of crap i'm thinking..... no..... not the jeep,.... the company behind the dam thing! i noticed some big changes in the freedom panels' mounting methods and SEALING methods that appear to be right "on target" as they say. so, decided to hit up the parts department to see if the new freedom panels are interchangeable with the old.... NOPE!.... not unless i want to (supposedly) change out the windshield frame and the entire hardtop. apparently they found a major problem with the design and started over........... GEEEESSHH.... OH REALLY??? and retrofitable??? oh HELL NO............ Way to go fockers......

Those of us with earlier models are left out, but it is still a good thing that they continue to improve the product over time. At least the 09 folks might not get so wet.

Any pictures of these changes? The only problem I have ever had with mine is crackign around the bolts, but I already spoke to my dealer and that will be covered under warranty.

I have never had a leak in mine to date, and we have had torrential rain here for weeks with quite a lot of floods and weather warnings so its been tested well!

not impressed with changing it so it aint a retro fit like!

always be sure to flip out the little feet on the back of the freedom top when not using the back shell! A lot of people don't know about that and that can strip the bolts that hold it on. It is just an obscure reference in the owner's manual, they should post it prominently imho.

Never had 1 drip in my hard top. The soft top leaks enough for both of them tho.

I've had and still have leaks in both my soft and hard top. Glad Jeep is doing something about it 2 years later. Would've been nice if they could solve the leaks in the 07's.

I have an '09 and didn't notice anything different from the '07 or '08's I looked at. I'd be happy to post some pics if someone could tell me what to look for?
