The Jeep paint SUCKS!!!! I am so tired of hearing how "its a Jeep thing" and its not designed for its looks, etc. but come on now!!! We pay good hard earned money for them and for what they charge, knowing they are to be used off-road, the paint should be extra strong. I have rust around every screw on my Jeep as well as on the screws that hold the backseat down to the floor and they dont even get wet. I am so f*ing tired of the Jeep thing excuse!!!!

I don't have any problems with the paint I do think it scratches easier than other vehicles, or maybe I never drive other vehicles where I drive the jeep

The clearcoat is extremely brittle and as a matter of fact I noticed the other day the paint on my 3yo Scag Tiger Cub has held up to scratches and chips much better than on my 09 Jeep.

My Bright fire engine Red 89 YJ, was almost orange when I traded it.

I would wash it, and if I used a white wash cloth, the cloth would have a red tint to it afterwards.

I don't guess I've really noticed. I do have several pin stripes, but they were well earned.

My cherokee was barely even faded after 9 years, but the JK is not wearing well. On my second bottle of touch up paint already. I have given up on the tail gate, it has massive chips from gear, and we haven't really been that tough on it yet

My '08 was really good at resisting chips and scratches. Much better than the other modern, water based paint vehicles that I've owned.

It had a great finish for a factory paint job too, very little orange peel.

Instead of "It's a Jeep thing"... the lack of overall quality "is a Chrysler thing".

I am glad I have my Lexuses to drive when I am in the mood for quality.

However, owning an FJ40 and (previously) 2 early broncos, I can appreciate the refinement of my JK.
