Diesel Wrangler???
According to Fiat-Chrysler's five-year plan, the Wrangler will get a long-overdue diesel engine option at the end of 2010, and make some concessions to fuel economy (a start-stop system) and creature comforts (a restyled interior). But otherwise, the Italian bosses are going to leave the old donkey alone.

diesel
Just talking about putting diesel engines in Wranglers is a good thing Actually doing it is a completely different story.
I don't want to sound negative but i will believe it when i see it. And hopefully it will be offered on both 2 and 4 door Wranglers

I would love to see a diesel in a Jeep. Now the problem is putting that diesel in the Jeep and keeping it affordable compared to the fuel alternative. I wouldn't mind paying extra for a diesel motor but if I am looking at an X (or Sport) with a diesel and a Rubicon with gas engine and the same price, that diesel will just sit there.

There has always been an available diesel engine.... my question is... is it going to be available in the US or is it just a change in the type of diesel engine they have offered in foreign countries for years?

Ran into this article "Diesel back in the picture at Chrysler, start-stop in Q4 2010"

I wonder if these will be sold in California?
